The high tomorrow is set for -4, yes that's a minus 4 degrees F.  That is absolutely ridiculous.  Why when I had the chance to move away, did I not do it?  Now I'm stuck in a mortgage in the middle of Antarctica for Christ' sake!  So fuck it, I'm going to Las Vegas on a jet airliner.  Leaving on Feb 21, at 5pm.  Thank God, something to look forward to during these long, cold, dark days of winter.  Yuck, yuck, yuck...winter sucks.

I'll admit it, I voted for both of the Bush's, but this time around,  I have no idea who I'm going to be voting for...or even if I'll vote.  Time will tell.  Politics and the machine that runs it is an interesting thing.   Case in point, read on.

Republican candidate Mike Huckabee is getting a lot of attention these days regarding how he's using his religion in his campaign.  How interesting how these symbols show up - smart campaign people!  I would've never noticed if the media hadn't pointed it out.

Merry Christmas everyone.  Hope your new year is a prosperous one.  It's going to be for me and mine. 

Have you set any goals for the next year?  I have - save $40,000.  I'm contemplating posting results month by month.  There's no way I could make this goal w/o a second job, so I plan to work weekends - hopefully - to make this happen.  40k, 12 months.   This includes money to 401k, Roth IRA, mySmart Money accounts, Sharebuilder, and general savings.  The question is should I include earnings in this number?  My gut says no, earnings aren't 'guaranteed' savings - more along the lines of speculative.  Still deciding on this one.

Let's do the math on this.  40k.  365 days.   That's $109.59/day.  Wow.  Well, let's see how close I can come.  

I use a number of sites to snoop around to learn more about money, finance, investing, etc.

Game 6 is on tonight.  For those unaware, and from the looks of it, that's a LOT of people,  the NHL Stanley Cup finals are well underway.  Anaheim leads the best of 7 series 3-1, with a could-be game 5 tonight at Anaheim.  Come on Ottawa - we all want to get this series to 7 games....

T-6.   The countdown is on.  It's Monday night, June 4, 2007, and I'm anxiously awaiting Sunday morning, 7am (departure).

I'm watching the Ottawa-Anaheim game 4 on NBC tonight.  I'm rooting for Ottawa tonight because I want them to tie things up and hopefully, hopefully, get this series to a game 7, which would be on Monday, the 11th, my second day/night in Las Vegas.   I desperately want to belly up to a bar with table top VP and watch the game while playing.  So please, let this get to a game 7!  If there is......interruption time!!!  Ottawa just scored to make it 1-0...woo hoo.  Come on boys, keep it up!!!! So back to my pleading - if there is any justice in this world, we'll all see a game 7.

Next time I'm out in LV, I plan to try to find some Sin City beer.  I  think the name of the brewery alone should win some kind of award...I mean come on...how could this brewery not completely dominate the 'touristy' market??  They need more hype.   Where's Lindsay Lohan when you need her?  Oh yeah, that's right, she's in rehab.  Give her a few weeks..er days...she'll be available.  She's just a trainwreck!!

Las Vegas, blogs and....quotes?  Yeah, a weird combination.  The internet is so full of stuff;  this is my contribution.  Hope you find something to entertain you here...

Not much to report today.  Just waiting for June 10, the day I leave for a 5 night stay in Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.  I'm staying downtown for 4 nights (free rooms) and spending the last night at South Point.  I've read good things about SP, so I thought I'd give them a try.   

This trip I'm going to dedicate myself to hitting a Royal Flush on some form of video poker.  I've lost count of the number of times I've been to Mecca, but I'm estimating about 25, and in all those trips I haven't hit a Royal.  I'll admit, in the past, I haven't really played much VP, so when I think about it, I'm not totallly surprised I haven't hit one yet.   This time, though, things will be different!! haha  I do plan to spend much of my time at Main Street Station.  There's just something I really enjoy about this hotel.  It could be the Victorian decorations, the high, towering ceilings in the casino (I don't smoke), the Boar's Head Bar, or perhaps the piece of the Berlin Wall in the men's latrine. Or maybe the 4OAK VP scratch offs?   Who knows....it doesn't really matter...I just like it, so that's good enough for me.  What I DO know is it's not because of their website.  It's boring as can be!
